Anna Rism
She arrives like the dark. Unannounced.
Invites herself in without asking and
Starts consuming everything.
I’ve screamed at her. Yelled at her.
Even threatened to kill her once.
But still she stays. Like the dark.
Unannounced.
I’ve exhausted all my resources.
Hers are barely touched.
So then I got to thinking.
I’ll give her all my love.
Consume her like the sun.
Bore through to the very core of her
Until there is nothing left of her.
Still she sits. On the edges of my bed.
Swinging her legs. So I swing mine too.
What to do?
Me and Anna sitting by the tree;
K-i-s-s-i-n-g.
Ah-choo –does it remind me of a Sylvia Plath poem? Ok, just made a search–it’s “Daddy”.
