A poem on death and burial

Send me down the river

let this discarded body lie.

Let it rot amongst the lilies

and be nurtured by the sky.

Bury me in the garden, and let

my blood make flowers grow.

Allow my tears to water hedges

and with my death let sorrow go.

Take my body to the mountains

and let vultures be my guest.

Let my flesh be food for comfort

while my soul in heaven rests.
